Vacuum test stand
Vacuum testing is carried out using a PhoeniX L 340 leak test rig (Oerlikon/Balzers) in the workshop area at the LMC site (Wannsee). The leak test rig is suitable for pumping air and inert gases such as nitrogen, argon and helium. It is capable of pumping volumes connected to the test item flange (DN 40 KF), which may be filled to a maximum of atmospheric pressure. After sufficient evacuation of the test volume, the amount of helium contained in the gas flow can be measured by the integrated helium leak detector and converted into a test item leak rate.
