Department Materials Chemistry for Catalysis

Group Activities

2026

Our group member Dr. Niklas Hausmann was invited to present a lecture titled “Reproducibility in Electrocatalysis” at the Center of High Entropy Alloy Catalysis (CHEAC), Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen.

The talk highlighted the importance of scientific rigor, transparency, and reproducibility in electrocatalysis—core principles that guide our research at MENEZES Lab.

We gratefully acknowledge CHEAC and the University of Copenhagen for the kind invitation and for providing an excellent platform for scientific exchange.

Our group member, Dr. Debabrata Bagchi, was invited to present his research at the MTET Sub-topic 3.2 Workshop 2026 – “Power-based Chemicals and Fuels” held at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP), Garching.

His presentation highlighted recent advances in the electrochemical upcycling of biomass- and plastic-derived molecules into value-added chemicals and fuels, contributing to discussions on sustainable carbon utilization and electrochemical conversion technologies.

We thank the organizers for the invitation and for providing an excellent platform for scientific exchange.

Visit of Dr. Jerry Lamola (Sasol South Africa Limited)

Dr. Jerry Lamola from Sasol South Africa Limited visited our lab in Berlin for fruitful scientific discussions and knowledge exchange. The interaction with Prof. Menezes and our research group provided valuable insights and opened up perspectives for future collaboration, further strengthening academia–industry engagement in energy and catalysis research.
