HPC cluster Z3
Resources
The z3 HTC cluster from the Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB) features over 180 compute nodes with about 15k CPU cores, 100 TB of memory and 128 GPUs on premise. 24 GPUs were contributed by HZB leading to a contingent of approximately 17.5 k GPU hours per month. The monthly GPU usage of HZB is listed below.
Access
To get access to the z3 cluster, please send the following information to Yannic Kerkhoff.
- Mail address:
- First and last name:
- HZB affiliation, e.g. WI-AOS:
- end of contract at HZB:
- PI/Supervisor:
- 1-2 sentences for what you want to use the z3 cluster:
After positive evaluation of your application, a ZIB account will be created for you, so you can get access to our "z3" compute cluster. You should receive an email asking you to complete your details on ZIBs Portal website. Next, their administration will draft a "Rechnerzugangsvereinbarung", which you can digitally sign on the DocuSign website, and then finally you'll get the actual account. This shouldn't take more than a few days in total.
Documentation
The HPC jobs are scheduled using Slurm.
