LiXEdrom@OPUS
XES, XAS, RIXS, micro-jet station at the Open Port beamline for User Station /UE51_PGM-1
The LiXEdrom station, when connected to the UE51-PGM1 beamline, is capable of undertaking soft X-ray spectroscopy on liquid samples.
It can take measurements of X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) via the detection techniues of TEY, TFY, PFY and transmission mode, and of resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS).
A variety of liquid samples can be measured, i.e. micro-jet, flat-jet, flow cell, electrochemical cell and transmission cell. Solids can be investigated as is without any additional treatments.
LiXEdrom is equipped with a customized data aquisition (DAQ) program based on Igor Pro software. Various devices, including beamline, keithley, keysight, sample manipulator, biologic potentiostat, and camera (for RIXS), are integrated into the DAQ program for simultaneous measurements.
Fast XAS scan is available. A scan of 40 eV range takes less than 2 mins.
When the beamline parameter and RIXS detector are carefully tuned, high RIXS spectral resolution can be achieved, see the N2 vibronic features below.
- Investigate Hydrogen-bond network and Hofmeister effects in aqueous solutions
- Determine interfacial electronic properties (electron delocalization) at the solute-solvent interface
- Observe of electronic structure changes of catalysts in solution and electrolytes along the reaction path
- Investigate the surface chemistry of nanoparticles in solution activated by different surfactants
- State of the art in situ and operando spectrochemical investigation of catalytically active materials
